Welcome to GeLoMer 2024
Lorentzian Geometry provides the mathematical foundation for Einstein's theory of Relativity. As a mathematical discipline, it incorporates aspects from different branches of mathematics like Differential Geometry, Partial Differential Equations and Mathematical Analysis, just to mention a few. Nowadays is a thriving area of research involving a worldwide community of scholars.

Some History
More than 20 years ago, an interest for fostering an enduring academic collaboration among several different Spanish research groups with the common interest in the development of Lorentzian Geometry and related topics was born. The first gathering of these groups took place in Benalmádena in 2001. This first event forged the "Benalmádena spirit", a strong commitment for building a nurturing academic environment, marked with openness and respect, and a privileged forum for both students and research to be exposed to the latest developments in the field.
The International Meeting on Lorentzian Geometry is held every two or three years, alternating between Spain and institutions overseas. So far, ten Meetings have been celebrated: Benalmádena (2001), Murcia (2002), Casteldefells (2005), Santiago de Compostela (2007), Martina Franca (2009), Granada (2011), Sao Paulo (2013), Málaga (2016), Warsaw (2018) and Córdoba (2021). Over the years the event has flourished, with 50 talks and more 178 registered participants in the last edition of the event.
The next meeting is scheduled to be held at Universidad Autónoma de Yucatán (in Mérida, México) from January 29th to February 2nd, 2024.
Aim and Scope
The Meeting is aimed to convey researches on all aspects of Lorentzian Geometry. Topics include Differential Geometry, Geometric Analysis, Lie theory, Partial Differential Equations, Functional Analysis and Mathematical Relativity. The Meeting comprises research talks, a minicourse and a poster session, as well as an Event Dinner and social activities. Students and young researchers are encouraged to participate.
